Qazigund: In a significant development under the Poshan Abhiyan, the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) department today distributed appointment orders for newly appointed 24 Anganwadi helpers. The distribution ceremony was held at Townhall, Qazigund, in the presence of MLA for Anantnag West Constituency, Abdul Majeed Bhat.
The Poshan Abhiyan aims to strengthen the grassroots level support for child welfare and women’s empowerment, with the newly appointed Anganwadi helpers playing a vital role in community-based service delivery. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the reach and effectiveness of the ICDS programs in the region.
The MLA, in his address, emphasized the importance of these appointments for improving early childhood care and nutrition services in the district. He assured continued support for such initiatives aimed at enhancing local governance and development.
The event also saw the participation of Tehsildar Qazigund, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Qazigund, Firdousa Akther, Block Medical Officer Qazigund, and other key officials. Supervisors, Anganwadi workers, and helpers from the Qazigund area were also present at the occasion.
