The Nangi Tekri Battalion, under the aegis of the Krishna Ghati Brigade, is proud to announce the inaugural season of the Krishna Ghati Premier League (KGPL) 2024-2025. This landmark event is not just another cricket tournament but a celebration of the spirit of sportsmanship and a tribute to the indomitable courage of the region’s heroes. Set to become the most talked-about cricket league in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, KGPL 2024-2025 offers cash prizes worth ₹8 Lakhs and promises to captivate cricket lovers and inspire the youth.

Cricket Meets Community: A Mega Event in the Making

KGPL 2024-2025 is slated to feature 32 teams representing the diverse and culturally rich areas of Poonch, Surankote, and Rajouri. The league’s format ensures a high-octane contest, with teams divided into eight groups of four and matches conducted on a knockout basis. This structure guarantees thrilling encounters, with each game bringing communities together in a celebration of talent and teamwork. The league will culminate in a grand finale on Vijay Diwas (16 December 2024), a day of immense national significance that marks India’s victory in the 1971 war.

A Tribute to the Heroes of 1971

The selection of Vijay Diwas for the final match is deeply symbolic. It is a heartfelt tribute to the brave locals of Jhallas, whose sacrifices were instrumental in the capture of Nangi Tekri from the Pak Army during the 1971 war. By intertwining sports with the region’s proud military history, the league celebrates not just cricket but the enduring legacy of heroism and patriotism. The Indian Army’s initiative reflects its deep connection with the local populace, using sports as a medium to nurture youth and foster unity.

    Star Power and Big Rewards

KGPL 2024-2025 promises to attract widespread attention with the participation of IPL players, whose presence will elevate the league’s profile and inspire budding cricketers in the region. The tournament also boasts a prize pool of ₹8 Lakhs, with rewards for the winning team, runners-up, and standout individual performers. Adding to the event’s prestige, war veterans will preside over the prize distribution ceremony, emphasizing the league’s connection to the Army’s enduring values of courage, commitment, and community.

   Strengthening Bonds Through Sports

The Indian Army has always been at the forefront of fostering peace, development, and empowerment in the region, and KGPL 2024-2025 is another shining example of this effort. By organizing a cricket league of such scale and significance, the Army underscores its role as a unifying force, blending cultural heritage with modern aspirations. The league is not just about cricket; it is a platform for youth empowerment, a showcase of local talent, and a celebration of shared pride and history.

Looking Ahead

KGPL 2024-2025 promises to be a game-changer for the region, bringing together communities, fostering a spirit of competition, and honoring the sacrifices of the past. As the Nangi Tekri Battalion gears up to host this monumental event, cricket enthusiasts and patriots alike are invited to join the journey. With the crack of the bat and cheers echoing through the hills, KGPL 2024-2025 is set to create history, reminding us that true victories are won not just on the battlefield but in the hearts and minds of people.

Let the games begin, and may the spirit of the heroes guide every player on the field. Jai Hind!
