These dry fruits from Kashmir are celebrated worldwide for their taste, nutritional value, and purity. Kashmir is particularly famous for its walnuts, which are considered among the best in the world due to their superior quality, rich flavour, and natural oil content. Kashmiri walnuts are larger, have a distinct earthy flavour, and come in different varieties such as paper-shell, thin-shell, and hard-shell. These walnuts are known for being organic, as they are often grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. They are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, making them a popular choice for those focused-on health and wellness.

Additionally, political instability in the region occasionally affects trade and disrupts the livelihoods of local farmers and artisans.
