Bandipora: MLA Sonawari Inaugurates Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme for Nowgam Sonawari, Ending Decades-Long Wait for Tap Water. In a significant development, MLA Sonawari has inaugurated the first Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme for Nowgam Sonawari, a long-standing demand of the local residents.
This initiative marks a major milestone, as Nowgam Sonawari will receive tap water for the first time since 1947. locals had been staging protests and raising the issue in numerous block diwas, seeking a solution to their water woes.
Finally, the JJM scheme will provide tap water connections to the entire area, transforming the lives of the residents.
Additionally, MLA Sonawari, along with SE R&B, Executive Engineer R&B Sumbal, visited the Sumbal Footbridge and Tundpora to Hakabara footbridge to review the progress of work on the footbridge, another long-standing demand of the Whole Sonawari.
