Srinagar:  Two Army personnel were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at snow bound Gurez road in Jammu Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday, officials said.

Traffic police officials said the accident occurred at snow bound Zadikushi-Gurez road when the vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge causing injuries to two army jawans.

The injured jawans have been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, they said.

As soon as the accident occurred, Army and civil authorities started a rescue operation amid accumulated snow and freezing temperature to move the injured to the hospital, the officials said and added more details will follow.
