Karnah: The Seema Prahari Cricket and Volleyball Tournament, organized under the aegis of the 89 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF), culminated today at Teetwal cricket ground. The tournament, which commenced on December 4, was inaugurated by Brigadier Manish Datt Upadhyay (Retired), DIG, BSF Kupwara Sector.
In the volleyball competition, Team Dhani Capitals emerged as the champions, while Team Ibkote Sultan secured the runners-up position. In the cricket category, Team Rising Star Teetwal clinched the winner’s trophy, with Team Dhani Capitals finishing as runners-up.
The event concluded with the distribution of trophies, medals, and sports kits to the players and finalists. Special recognition was given to the Chinar Youth Committee Teetwal for their contribution to the event. As a mark of appreciation, mementos were presented to Ravinder Pandita, chairman of the Save Sharda Committee, and Ajaz khan and other officials.
The closing ceremony included a vote of thanks from Syed Saif Ahmad, Second-in-Command, BSF, who emphasized the tournament’s objective of encouraging local youth to showcase and refine their talents, foster team spirit, and promote a sense of healthy competition.
