Srinagar: Renowned Kashmiri poet and Sahitya Akademi Awardee Prof Shaad Ramzan has been selected by the Prasar Bharati jury to represent the Kashmiri language at the esteemed National Symposium of Poets 2025.
The event, celebrated as the largest poetic congregation in the world, is scheduled to take place on December 19 in Mumbai.
According to the details collected by the news agency JKNS, the symposium will feature poets from 22 Indian languages, each presenting their works in a grand event that highlights India’s linguistic diversity. Prof Shaad Ramzan’s poem, “Tyuth Kanh Baeth”, which is a heartfelt prayer celebrating humanity’s reconnection with nature, has been chosen for the occasion.
“The symposium, organized annually in connection with Republic Day, will be recorded and broadcast across all Akashvani stations in India on January 25, 2025, at 10 PM.”
Similarly, prof Shaad Ramzan, an eminent academician and literary critic, is widely recognized for his contributions to Kashmiri literature. He is the author of several significant literary works and currently serves as the Convener of the Kashmiri Advisory Committee of Sahitya Akademi.
