Gulmarg: The Department of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism today started the Christmas 2025 celebrations at the St. Mary’s Church in Gulmarg by kicking off the region’s winter carnival.
The event was taking place against the backdrop of the snow-covered mountains, and the festive atmosphere was all over this hill station.
The church, which has been famous for its peace and rural ambiance, according to the details collected by the news agency JKNS, became a central point both for the locals and Christian community tourists. The celebrations brought about brotherhood and harmony among people to enjoy seasonal festivities.
Similarly, this event is a part of the winter carnival, with other events planned across the valley. The celebrations will continue in Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, and Srinagar, culminating into grand New Year celebrations on December 31st.
A tourist from Gujarat, who visited the church, said, “Christmas in Gulmarg is not a celebration of season, but of unity and togetherness. Brotherly spirit fills the air that gives warmth to this winter wonderland.
Another visitor, Rahul from Mumbai, said the serene beauty of St. Mary’s Church and the breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains make this celebration unforgettable. It’s a perfect start to the winter carnival.
