Jammu: The BJP national General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Tuesday condemned the Abdullah and the Gandhi families for sullying the glorious image of Bhim Rao Ambedkar and for subverting his ideals and plans.
Chugh said former Prime Ministers Pt Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi deliberately destroyed the reputation of Ambedkar and his ideals.
Chugh said Nehru ensured the electoral defeat of Ambedkar and played havoc with Ambedkar’s political career.
Later, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi tried twisting the reservation policy.
Similarly, the Abdullah government, instead of fulfilling its election promises, has been planning to snatch the reservation of Dalits and backward classes which the BJP would never allow.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chugh said, has always been upholding the philosophy and ideals of Ambedkar and has acknowledged his contribution to nation-building.
Earlier, addressing party workers here, Chugh gave a call for strengthening the grassroots-level structure of the BJP across the state.
He also asked the party workers to highlight the failures of the Abdullah government.
The Prime Minister’s development policies must reach all sections of the society and all parts of J&K, Chugh added.
