Karnah Kupwara: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Karnah, Javaid Mirchal, stated that some people are engaging in unnecessary politics, whereas the focus should have been on constructive criticism. Instead, certain so-called leaders are attempting to mislead the public through envy and divisive tactics. However, the public is well aware of their intentions.
Responding to public concerns over the reservation policy, MLA Javaid Mirchal reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the rights of the region’s people. He clarified that if there is any attempt to undermine reservation rights, especially concerning the ST1 and ST2 categories, it will be strongly opposed.
Mirchal said, “Reservation policies fall under the jurisdiction of Parliament, not the Assembly. However, if these rights appear to be at risk anywhere, I will be the first to act to safeguard them.” He demonstrated his strong resolve, further elaborating that when the Gujjar community was granted these reservations, it was the Pahari community that began a prolonged struggle, which eventually bore fruit after years of effort.
He also mentioned that more opposition might arise, but there is no need to fear such challenges. MLA Karnah emphasized the historical significance and necessity of reservations for social and economic development. He assured the public of his unwavering support, promising to take all necessary measures, whether legal or administrative, to protect their rights.
Recently, while addressing public concerns about potential changes in the reservation framework, Mirchal expressed solidarity with his constituents. He said, “I always prioritize the welfare of the people of Karnah. Any decision that jeopardizes their rights will not be tolerated. Together, we will ensure justice and equality.”
This statement has been widely appreciated in Karnah, with many recognizing it as a reaffirmation of his commitment to the region’s development and equity. Mirchal’s proactive approach highlights his readiness to challenge measures that could affect reservation policies, which serve as a foundation of support for many vulnerable groups in Karnah.
In a statement, Mirchal added that with the formation of the government, he has already begun addressing the issues and challenges faced by the people, with further improvements on the way. He emphasized that providing better medical facilities in hospitals, ensuring quality education, constructing roads, and creating employment opportunities are among his government’s top priorities. He promised never to abandon the people of his constituency.
Finally, Javaid Mirchal appealed to so-called leaders to focus on fostering a positive mindset and contributing to the region’s development rather than misleading the public.
