“The NC government has failed on every front in delivering their promises made in the manifesto”, BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur told media persons in Srinagar on Wednesday.
Thakur said by raising the reservation issue Omar Abdullah government is trying to divert the attention of the people to hide his failures.
He said it has been almost three months since the NC government took over the reins of the Union Territory, but failed to deliver the promises made in their manifesto including to provide free 200 units of electricity, 12 gas cylinders, 10kg rice, one lakh jobs and regularise the daily wagers in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The NC has failed on every front in delivering their promises made in the manifesto”, the BJP leader alleged.
He alleged that even the link roads were not cleared off the recent snowfall in Kashmir valley.
“Omar Abdullah’s government appears on papers and delivers only through statements”, he said and added “the NC failed to provide electricity, water supply and cleared recent snowfall off the roads”.
Thakur alleged that people are expressing their displeasure on unscheduled power cuts.
“The Omar Abdullah government took a U-turn on the promise of removing electric smart meters after the elections adding that now they are saying the electricity would be provided fully only when 100 percent metering will take place in Jammu and Kashmir”, he remarked.
Thakur said Omar Abdullah had promised that soon it would come into power they would throw smart meters in Jammu in river Tawi and in river Jhelum in Kashmir.“To provide 200 units of electricity free to the people is a distant dream”, he said adding “the government at least should provide us electricity on the same schedule which was being provided last year by the Lieutenant Governor administration”.
He said the Omar Abdullah government made tall promises with the people like the former Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal style but failed to deliver on ground zero.
Thakur said that people have high hopes from Omar Abdullah government and urged him to deliver on ground zero.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat Train connecting Kashmir to New Delhi on the Republic Day.
