New Delhi: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Monday held talks with his visiting US counterpart Jake Sullivan during which they discussed a range of issues spanning the bilateral partnership.
Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with the outgoing US National Security Advisor Sullivan during which they discussed deepening the bilateral ties.
EAM also expressed appreciation for the US NSA’s personal contribution to forging closer ties.
In a post on X, the EAM posted:
“Delighted to meet US NSA @JakeSullivan46 in New Delhi today morning.
“Continued our ongoing discussions on deepening bilateral, regional and global cooperation.
“Valued the openness of our conversations in the last four years. Appreciated his personal contribution to forging a closer and stronger India-US partnership.”
EAM had met with the outgoing US NSA in Washington late last month too.
The White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby, announcing the visit last Friday, said the two NSAs will discuss “a range of issues across the breadth of our partnership with India, from space, defense, strategic technology cooperation, all the way also to shared security priorities in the Indo-Pacific and beyond”.
