Srinagar: Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, remembered the former Chief Minister of the state, late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, on his 9th death anniversary, highlighting the significant role Sayeed played in the region’s political landscape.
In a tweet, Omar as per the news agency JKNS, acknowledged Mufti Sayeed’s legacy as one of the most senior political leaders to emerge from Kashmir. He recognized the late leader’s distinguished service in various ministries of the Union Government and his two terms as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Remembering former CM of J&K, late Mufti Mohd Sayeed Sb on his 9th death anniversary. Mufti Sb was one of the most senior political leaders to emerge from Kashmir, having served in various ministries in the Union Government & been elected CM of J&K twice. His death left a gap in the political landscape of J&K that remains unfilled. May Allah grant him highest place in Jannat,” reads the tweet of CM Omar.—(JKNS)
