Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested 3 drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party headed by SHO Police Station Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Khawajabagh Baramulla, intercepted one person. During search, 60 tablets of Alprazolam and 29 tablets of Pacitane psychotropic substances was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Sarfaraz Ahmad Dar son of Sonaullah Dar resident of Kralhar Baramulla. Similarly, a police party of Police Station Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Banali Boniyar, intercepted one suspicious person identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Sheikh son of Gh Hassan resident of Dudran. During search, 54 grams of Heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Moreover, a police party of Police Post Wagoora at a checkpoint established at Takiya Wagoora, intercepted one suspicious person identified as Jahangir Ahmad Shah son of Mehraj ud Din resident of Takiya Wagoora. During search, 30 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession.
All the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to respective police stations. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigation have been initiated.
