Rajouri: The spring in Badhal village, Rajouri, tested positive for pesticides, prompting authorities to block it and deploy security, ensuring no water is used to protect public health.
As per order issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner, (ADM) Kotranka a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, Whereas, the samples of water taken from the spring (Bawli) of village Badhal have been tested positive for some pesticides / insecticide. The said Bawli has been blocked by PHE (Jal Shakti) Division Rajouri and sealed by the Magistrate concerned.
There is an apprehension that the tribal population of the village may collect the flowing water of this spring stealthily, it reads.
Order further reads, therefore, Tehsildar Khawas shall ensure that no villager must use the water from this spring in any case. SHO Police Station Kandi is hereby directed to depute 02 to 03 Security Personnel round the clock at this Bawli so that the use of water of the said spring/Bawli may be stopped completely.
The matter is most urgent in the interest of public Health and Safety, reads the order. (JKNS)
