Deputy Chief Minister holds public outreach programme at Kangri

KANGRI, (RAJOURI): Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today conducted a public outreach programme at Punna Khetar, Kangri, in Beripattan Tehsil, Rajouri, where he interacted with the local residents and listened to their grievances.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with people expressing gratitude for the government’s outreach initiatives.
During the programme, the public raised various issues including relocation of tehsil office at Beripattan, establishment of a veterinary sub centre at Tanda, installation of electricity poles and addressing frequent power cuts, upgradation of Gurbak Singh to Shamshanghat, Gurudwara Singh to main road, and main road to Bachan Singh roads, requisition of transformers at Pyari Gala, Tanda (Ward No. 5) and Punna Khetar, Kangri, expediting work on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes in the region, opening of J&K Bank branch at Kangri, setting up of a medical sub-centre and repairing of handpumps at different locations.
The Deputy Chief Minister listened patiently to the concerns and issues projected by the people. He directed the district administration and concerned departments to address the grievances on priority basis.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment towards public welfare, stating, “Our government is taking administration to people’s doorsteps to ensure effective redressal of their grievances. We are fully accountable and committed to rapid development of every nook and corner of the region.”
The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that the benefits of all government schemes must reach genuine beneficiaries and warned against any misuse of subsidy schemes. He further directed the Chief Agriculture Officer to cancel the licenses of fertiliser dealers who are charging higher-than-approved rates to ensure that farmers are not exploited.
To enhance administrative accessibility, he also directed that the office of Tehsildar Beripattan be made functional in the Panchayat Ghar Kangri, ensuring ease of access for the local population.
Regarding strengthening of governance in the border areas, the Deputy Chief Minister directed ADDC Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, to hold similar public outreach programs on regular basis. He also instructed for a reshuffle of non-performing officials to enhance efficiency in service delivery.
The event was attended by ADC Nowshera, Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) Pir Panjal, Anil Kumar Pandohi; SE PWD(R&B), Devi Dayal and other district officers, who assured prompt action on the issues raised by the public.
