Police organizes mega awareness programme on New Criminal Laws in Anantnag

Anantnag: Police in Anantnag organized a mega awareness programme at Dak Banglow Khanabal, focusing on three New criminal laws viz, BNS, BNSS and BSA.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, The programme aimed to enhance public understanding of these laws and their impact on maintaining law and order in the district.

The event saw the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including DIG SKR Anantnag Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo, DC Anantnag Shri Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, Principal Shaheed Humayun Muzamil Memorial Degree College Khanabal, Principal GDC Women’s Anantnag, SP HQRS Anantnag, SP OPS Anantnag, SP North Anantnag, along with other senior officers from the judiciary, police and civil administration, it reads.

The programme featured detailed lectures delivered by officers of the District Police Anantnag on the provisions, applications and significance of the BNS, BNSS and BSA laws. The sessions aimed to provide a deeper understanding of these laws, highlighting their importance in ensuring justice, public safety and societal well-being.

It further reads, a large gathering of students, local residents and public officials actively participated in the event showing keen interest in the subject matter. The awareness programme was a step towards bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community, fostering greater collaboration in maintaining peace and security.

The participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative, acknowledging the importance of such awareness programmes in promoting a more law-abiding and informed society, it reads. (JKNS)
