Karnah: In a proactive response to the recent heavy snowfall, Deputy Commander of 104 Shakti Vijay Brigade facilitated the movement of Power Development Department (PDD) employees to Nasta Chhun Pass (NC Pass) to commence the restoration of electricity in the region. The step comes as part of a coordinated effort between the Army and civil administration to minimize the hardships faced by the local population.

Simultaneously, the Deputy Commander inspected NH-701 from Karnah to Chowkibal, overseeing the ongoing snow clearance operations. Due to heavy snowfall, particularly at Sadhna Top, road connectivity and power supply were severely disrupted, prompting swift intervention from authorities. Speaking to the media, the Deputy Commander 104 Shakti Vijay Brigade assured that restoration efforts for both electricity and traffic movement were being closely monitored. He emphasized that the Army remains committed to supporting civilians during harsh weather conditions. “We are working in close coordination with the civil administration. Beacon teams are on the ground clearing snow, and efforts are in full swing to restore normal traffic movement. The situation is being continuously monitored,” he stated.

The region, particularly Sadhna Top, has seen heavy snow accumulation, leading to frequent snow slides. While a substantial portion of NH-701 has been cleared, intermittent slides continue to pose challenges. However, the Beacon and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) teams are working tirelessly to keep the route accessible. The local population has expressed gratitude for the 104 Shakti Vijay Brigade and civil administration’s swift action. The Deputy Commander reaffirmed the Army’s dedication to assisting civilians in all possible ways, ensuring timely interventions in emergencies. Authorities have advised commuters to remain cautious and follow official advisories. With relentless efforts underway, the restoration of electricity and full traffic movement is expected soon, bringing relief to residents of Karnah and adjoining areas.
