Srinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K today commemorated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm at S-1, Church Lane, Srinagar. The event was organized to honor women achievers and Self-Help Group (SHG) beneficiaries, recognizing their contributions to society and economic empowerment.
The program was graced by Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Org), J&K, as the Chief Guest, who personally honored women for their resilience, achievements, and dedication in various fields. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and inclusive development.
Speaking at the event, Ashok Koul stated, “Women are the backbone of society, and their empowerment is key to the progress of the nation. The BJP-led government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has launched several initiatives to support women, including the Self-Help Group (SHG) schemes, Ujjwala Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Stand-Up India.”
The honored SHG beneficiaries shared their success stories, highlighting how government initiatives have transformed their lives and enabled them to become financially independent. BJP leaders and workers also pledged to continue working towards the upliftment and welfare of women in Jammu and Kashmir.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the role of women in nation-building and community development.
