Srinagar: The government has informed the Legislative Assembly that 135,925 houses have been constructed in Jammu and Kashmir under the Pradhan Mantri Grameen Awas Yojana (PMAY) in the last two years.
In response to a question raised by Shri Arjun Gupta during the 2nd session of the Legislative Assembly 2025. He had sought details on the number of beneficiaries provided houses under PMAY in the last two years and inquired about the targets set for the current year.
In its reply, the government stated that a total of 109,412 houses were constructed in Jammu Division and 26,513 houses in Kashmir Division, bringing the total to 135,925.
It further clarified that since the SECC-2011 and Awasplus database have been completely saturated, the remaining spillover target of 140,021 houses needs to be completed in the current financial year (CFY). Therefore, no separate target has been set for 2024-25. (JKNS)
