2.75 lakh Consumers Registered Under Amnesty Scheme: Govt

Srinagar,: The government has revealed that 275081 consumers have registered under the ongoing electricity bill amnesty scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.

Replying to a question asked by MLA Sheikh Khursheed, Minister In-Charge Power Development Department (PDD) as per news agency JKNS informed the Legislative Assembly that the government has provided a list of the top 100 electricity bill defaulters.

The minister stated that out of the total 275081 consumers, 160507 consumers are from Jammu, while 114574 are from Kashmir.

Regarding the beneficiaries of the amnesty scheme, the minister said the information is voluminous, spanning about 10,000 pages, and can be provided separately if required. (JKNS)
