Srinagar: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary has said that anyone attempting to weaken the elected government will fail, while assuring that police will thoroughly investigate the recent cases of missing persons found dead in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to media persons in Srinagar, Choudhary, as per news agency JKNS, said, “God is there to protect the elected government, and those who try to weaken it will not succeed.”

Referring to incidents of missing persons whose bodies were later found, he mentioned cases reported from Bilawal and Kulgam, calling the deaths unfortunate.

“These incidents are regrettable and must be looked into. Since the police work under LG Sahib, he will take note of the matter. The people of J&K are peace-loving, and such incidents should not happen again,” Choudhary said.

He further assured that police will investigate these deaths to uncover the truth, and anyone found guilty will face strict action.

“The government stands with the people for their protection. We will never tolerate a situation where people are killed and no action is taken. The Omar Abdullah-led government is here to protect the people and will always stand by them,” Kumar said. (JKNS)
