Karnah Kupwara: With the onset of summer, tree plantation has commenced across the valley, including in Karnah, where students from various schools actively participated in planting saplings. In the border villages of Teetwal and Sumari, a tree plantation campaign was organized under the initiative “A Plant in Mother’s Name,” aimed at promoting environmental awareness and responsibility.

More than 300 schoolchildren enthusiastically took part in the campaign, planting trees as a commitment to improving the natural environment. The event was attended by Deputy Commander of Shakti Vijay Brigade, Shri Alam (Forest Ranger Officer), A.M. Mir (SHO, Teetwal), and other local dignitaries.

The Deputy Commander encouraged the students with his presence and motivational words, highlighting the significance of environmental conservation. He urged that along with students, individuals from all walks of life should step forward to ensure environmental protection.

This initiative further strengthens the Indian Army’s commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability.
