Srinagar: The much-anticipated District Wushu Championship for the year 2024-2025 concluded successfully, with more than 250 talented participants competing in various categories. The event was held at the prestigious Gindun Stadium, where the young athletes displayed incredible skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

The championship was graced by a distinguished panel of guests, including the Chief Guest Dr. Waleed Karra, who lauded the exceptional performance of the athletes and emphasized the importance of sports in the overall development of youth. Mohammad Iqbal, Manager of Gindun Stadium, also extended his heartfelt appreciation to all the participants, coaches, and organizers for making the event a grand success.

Notable attendees such as Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi and Irfan Ah Wani were also present to show their support and encouragement to the budding wushu athletes. A special acknowledgment was given to the Wushu Association of Jammu & Kashmir and the J&K State Sports Council for their continuous support in promoting sports across the region.

The event would not have been possible without the leadership and vision of Mr. Kuldeep Handoo, Dronacharya Awardee, whose guidance and dedication to the sport of Wushu has been an inspiration to countless athletes. His contribution to the success of this championship was deeply appreciated.

The closing ceremony also featured a heartfelt vote of thanks, which was presented by Mohammad Maqsood Rather. He expressed gratitude to all the participants, coaches, parents, and supporters who made the championship a memorable and successful event.

We look forward to the continued growth of Wushu in the region and the nurturing of more future champions in the years to come. The overall champion of this championship was indoor wushu academy. And the runner up was New convent high school.
