Successful Pune Tour, United Kashmir Women’s Cricket Team Returns Back

Srinagar: The United Kashmir Women Cricket Team tour to Pune, organised by Chinar Corps and Aseem Foundation culminated on  24 March 2025 as the team returned to Sharifabad post extensive touring and gains rich experience. The tour offered the players not only an opportunity to showcase their cricketing talent but also an opportunity to interact with players from different parts of the Nation.

The team played three matches against Maharashtra Women’s Cricket Teams, earning praise for their sportsmanship, cricketing skills and fighting spirit. They gained valuable experience and confidence by interacting with cricket mentors like Ms Surabhi Dadhichi, JKCA Women Selector (former Indian cricket player), Mr Hemant Kinikar, former Indian player turned coach. During the tour the team also visited the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and the Blades of Glory Cricket Museum and engaged in a cultural exchange with local cricketers at the Mumbai Cricket Association Sports Complex.
Upon returning, the team was welcomed by General Officer Commanding,
HQ CIF (K), who commended their performance, sportsmanship in representing women players from Kashmir. He assured continued support for sports development in Kashmir, providing opportunities for young athletes and promoting women empowerment. This initiative is yet another step towards providing opportunities for the young generation of Kashmiris towards sporting excellence and giving wings to the dream of local Kashmiris, especially women.
