4th Ramzan Volleyball Cup Concludes in Shadipora with Message Against Drug Abuse

Bandipora: The 4th edition of the Ramzan Volleyball Cup Shadipora was successfully organized on Wednesday in Shadipora Sonawari, area of Bandipora district. The event was held under the slogan “Say Yes to Life, Say No to Drugs” and was a joint effort by Indian Army’s 24 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), White Globe NGO, and PMShri Higher Secondary School Shadipora, which served as the venue partner.

The tournament was organized by Sahil Bashir and Beigh Fazil, with participation from 16 teams across the Kashmir Valley. The event witnessed enthusiastic competition, promoting sportsmanship and youth engagement in positive activities.

On the occasion, CO 24 RR was the Chief Guest, while Mr. Anas Farhat graced the event as the Guest of Honour and Mr. Imtiyaz Wani attended as the Special Guest.

The winner and runner-up teams were awarded cash prizes and trophies in recognition of their outstanding performances.

Speaking to the media, tournament organizer Sahil Bashir said that the primary objective of the event was to keep the youth away from drugs and encourage them to participate in sports activities. He further added, “For the last four years, we have been organizing volleyball tournaments every month during Ramadhan to engage young people in positive and healthy activities.”

The successful completion of the tournament highlights the role of sports in promoting a drug-free society and fostering community engagement through collaborative efforts.
