Srinagar: Minister Javed Dar on Tuesday expressed strong optimism that this year’s tourist arrivals in Kashmir will surpass all previous records, saying the government’s continued efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure and create more attractions for visitors.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the opening of tulip garden as per news agency JKNS, Minister Javed Dar said, “We are expecting this year’s tourist footfall to break all past records. The tourism sector is flourishing, and those associated with it are happy. We are committed to improving tourism infrastructure and creating more destinations for tourists.”

Responding to question about developing another tulip garden, he clarified, “Right now, there are no plans to develop a second tulip garden. However, we are focusing on establishing well-maintained parks across the Valley that will also have tulips, contributing to the Valley’s beauty and tourist appeal.”

When asked about the misuse of agricultural land for commercial purposes, Dar stressed the government’s strict monitoring, saying, “The law regarding agricultural land is already in place, and we are making all efforts to ensure there is no misuse. Rules are being strictly followed.”

Commenting on the overall situation in Kashmir, Dar noted positive developments, stating, “The situation in Kashmir has improved significantly, and we are hopeful that this positive environment will continue to prevail.” (JKNS)
