Srinagar: In a significant move to enhance access to justice, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has ordered the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Bandipora, to hold court at Sumbal Headquarters three days a week.
A official notification as per agency JKNS, readscourt proceedings will now take place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at a designated premises in Sumbal, which will be identified by the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bandipora.
The decision aims to streamline the judicial process for residents of the Sumbal Sub-Division, ensuring faster redressal of cases closer to their homes.
Legal experts and locals have welcomed the move, calling it a much-needed step toward reducing delays and travel-related hardships for litigants.
The new arrangement is expected to ease the burden on the main court in Bandipora and improve overall judicial efficiency in the region. (JKNS)
