Srinagar: Mr. Mohammad Saleem Pandit, the president of the Press Club of Kashmir, on Saturday visited Anantnag District in South Kashmir to engage with local media personnel and understand their challenges.
Journalists in the area, including Tassaduq Ahmad, voiced their concerns during this interaction.
The attendees were assured of their enrollment as members of the Press Club of Kashmir to better address these issues.
Afterwards, the team met with Deputy Commissioner Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, IAS, who welcomed the journalists and promised to provide all possible assistance to support their legitimate professional duties.
The president, Mr. Saleem Pandit, assured them they would be handed over enrollment cards soon.
Similarly, the media persons of other districts of the Kashmir valley were requested to collect their enrollment cards from the Srinagar office.
The Anantnag Journalists later said their goodbyes to the district’s SSP, Dr. GV Sundeep Chakravarthy, who has been transferred to the Srinagar district.
The Deputy Commissioner also extended his farewell to the SSP, who has been recently posted as SSP Srinagar city.
Additionally, the executive body of the Press Club of Kashmir held a condolence meeting at its Srinagar office, expressing solidarity with Javed Dar, a videographer for the Daily Excelsior, whose wife passed away on Friday.
The executive members offered prayers for the departed soul, hoping for her place in Jannat.
