Srinagar, Apr 29 (JKNS): Pakistan troops resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across the Line of Control (LoC) during the night of April 28 and 29, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that firing took place in areas opposite Kupwara and Baramulla districts in north Kashmir, as well as the Akhnoor sector in Jammu region. The firing was sudden and without any provocation from the Indian side, they said.
The Indian Army, according to officials, responded to the provocation in a measured and effective manner, preventing any escalation and safeguarding civilian areas close to the LoC.
No casualties or major damage have been reported from the Indian side so far, and the situation remains under control, officials added. (JKNS)
