NEP 2020 Awareness Drive Held for Final Semester Students at GDC Ganderbal

Srinagar: Research and Extension Committee, Government Degree College Ganderbal organised a programme on ‘Flexibility of students in Higher Education under NEP 2020’ for students of 6th semester.

The programme aimed to acquaint students about the opportunities available to them after completing three years or six semesters in the college.

The Resource Person for the programme was Prof Mushtaq Ahmed Siddiqui, Chief Coordinator NEP, University of Kashmir. Dr Tabassum Masood, Convenor, Research and Extention committee introduced the programme and said that it was aimed to guide our students to decide about their future course of action as they are about to complete their 3rd year in the college.

Principal of the college Prof Fouzia Fatima in her formal welcome address highlighted the importance of NEP 2020.

She emphasized students to choose their future path very wisely as NEP 2020 offers multiple exit and entry points for admission to various PG programmes. Resource person, Prof Mushtaq Ahmed Siddiqui discussed in detail the pros and cons of NEP 2020 and also explained in detail how students can opt for one year or two year PG programme after completing three years in the college.

This was followed by an interactive session where students posed several questions to clear their doubts regarding admission to various courses. Dr Shabana Aslam and Dr Sheikh Shubeena, members Research and Extension committee recorded the proceeding the event.

The event was attended by faculty members and more than 400 students. The programme ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Tahira Naqvi, Assistant professor, department of chemistry.
