“Never Speak Differently Behind Closed Doors or in Public”: MP Aga Ruhullah rejects resignation rumours From NC

Srinagar, May 31 (JKNS): National Conference Member Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Saturday dismissed rumours about his resignation from the party, asserting that he stands firmly by his commitments both personal and organisational towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“I never speak differently behind closed doors or in public,” MP Ruhullah told media persons in Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS. “Whatever I have to say, I do not keep it secret. I don’t say one thing in a closed room and another outside. What I say indoors is exactly what I say publicly.”

Responding to questions on social media posts and their meanings, he clarified, “I have never issued cryptic messages. Regarding the tweets you were referring to, their meaning is clear and open for everyone to read and understand for themselves.”

When asked about circulating reports regarding his resignation from the National Conference, Ruhullah said, “These reports about resignations are mere rumours. I do not have answers for rumours. My effort remains to stay committed to the promises I have made to people personally, and to fulfil our commitments politically and at the level of governance as a party and as this government.”

He added, “Our political agenda for the state on which we sought people’s votes was based on representing their political sentiments and aspirations. We must act on that agenda without wasting time.”

Speaking on the tourism outreach, Ruhullah said internal efforts were needed to genuinely build confidence. “Internally, there is a need for serious work on tourism. The delegations sent abroad, in my opinion, don’t appear to be about tourism. They seem to serve some other purpose, and their results will be visible in due time.”

“There’s a need to change the artificial narrative presented about Kashmir, especially after the Pahalgam event. It’s time to project the true picture,” Ruhullah said. (JKNS)
