June,04,(JKNS):In a surprise visit to Tujar Sharief Tehsil Bomai Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, Mr. S A Raina, (JKAS) took stock of the dilapidated condition of the Watlab Chetkak road.
The road’s poor state had been causing significant inconvenience to the general public, and the ADC’s visit aimed to assess the situation firsthand and find immediate solutions.
During his visit “Raina” walked approximately 2 kilometers on foot to minutely assess the road’s condition. During the walk, he met with scores of people, including DDC Tujar Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, members of the Auqaf Committee,Transport Union Tujar, and Trade body Association.
The locals expressed their woeful sentiments with the road’s condition and its impact on their daily lives as the road is in poor and shabby condition from the last many months.
Raina assured the public that immediate remedial measures would be taken to mitigate their suffering.
The worthy officer contacted the Executive Engineer (Exen) of the Roads and Buildings department Division Sopore, who informed him that the road repair work had been tendered out at a cost of ₹5.66 crores and would commence shortly.
Recognizing the urgency of situation Raina”directed the Exen to undertake pot filling work on the road until the major repair work begins. This interim measure aims to provide some relief to the commuters and reduce the inconvenience caused by the road’s poor condition.
During his interaction with the locals, “Raina” also took note of other pressing issues in the area.One of the key concerns highlighted was the removal of encroachments from Budshah Pond.
The ADC has issued directions to the concerned authorities to address this issue promptly.
The ADC’s visit and subsequent actions demonstrate the administration’s commitment to addressing public grievances and improving infrastructure in the region. By taking immediate action and ensuring that the necessary repairs are undertaken, the ADC aims to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Tujar Rafiabad and provide them with better amenities.
