Karnah, June 5, 2025 — Iqra Model Public School Kandi Karnah celebrated World Environment Day 2025 with vibrant and meaningful activities aimed at raising awareness about environmental protection, especially focusing on this year’s global theme: “Putting an End to Plastic Pollution.”
The event was organized in collaboration with the Forest Department Karnah, adding credibility and depth to the day’s purpose. Forester Mr. Majid Ahmed graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while distinguished professors from Government Degree College Kandi Karnah also attended as special guests, bringing their valuable insights and encouragement to the young minds.
The celebration was marked by a series of engaging and impactful activities:
A solemn Environmental Pledge was taken by students and staff to reduce plastic usage and adopt eco-friendly habits.
A Drawing Competition was held, showcasing students’ creativity and concern for nature.
A Speech Competition allowed students to voice their thoughts on environmental issues with confidence and passion.
A Plantation Drive was conducted both within the school campus and outdoors in the surrounding areas, emphasizing the importance of afforestation.
The guests appreciated the efforts of the students and school staff. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners of the competitions, recognizing their dedication and performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Forester Majid Ahmed lauded the school’s initiative and stressed the need for youth participation in protecting the environment. The professors from the Degree College also inspired students with their words, urging them to become responsible caretakers of the Earth.
The program concluded with a strong message: “It starts with us — say no to plastic, plant more trees, and protect the planet.” The entire school community, including teachers, students, and guests, pledged to carry forward this mission not just for a day, but every day.
