Rajouri: Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri has strongly refuted reports circulating on social media about a mysterious disease outbreak in Kotli (Bagla) village of Rajouri, terming them baseless and misleading.
In a statement issued to the news agency JKNS, Prof. (Dr) A. S. Bhatia, Principal of GMC Rajouri, clarified, “It has been observed that a news is being circulated in the social media regarding alleged outbreak of mysterious disease in village Kotli (Bagla), Rajouri. In this connection, it is clarified that no such outbreak has occurred.”
The statement further added that the cases reported were simple seasonal gastroenteritis, a common ailment during this time of the year. “Recently, we have admitted eleven cases of gastroenteritis and ten have been discharged. There is no mysterious illness or any outbreak,” the Principal stated.
“All tests have been done on the samples and have been confirmed as simple cases of gastroenteritis,” it reads.
