Srinagar, Jun 12 (JKNS): An unidentified dead body was found floating in the River Jhelum near Mehjoormazar area of Athwajan in Panthachowk, on Thursday.
A police official told news agency JKNS, an unknown male dead body was fished out by residents from the river near Mehjoormazar.
A police team from Panthachowk reached the spot and took possession of the body. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, and medico-legal formalities are underway, he said.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation started. (JKNS)
