Shopian, June 26 (JKNS): A girl drowned to death while bathing in Nallah Tongri at Gund Darvish, Zainapora, area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday.
An official told news agency JKNS stated that The deceased was identified as Jameela Akther, daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan from Rajouri, was living in Gund Darvish Zainapora Shopian as a tenant.
Locals tried to rescue her, but she was found dead shortly after being retrieved from the water, he said.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and started proceedings to investigate the circumstances of the tragic incident. (JKNS)
