Pulwama – May 27, 2025 – Umer Jaan, District President of the Indian National Congress (INC) for Pulwama, today strongly criticized the sitting MLA for failing to deliver on election promises and adequately represent the people of Pulwama.
Key Points Raised by Umer Jaan
1.Unrealized Election Promises
Despite assurances during the campaign, most promised projects remain unstarted, confined only to social media rhetoric .
2.Bus Stand Issue
The pledge to restore the old Pulwama bus stand has seen no follow‑through. Its relocation to Drussu has adversely affected the livelihoods of local shopkeepers and vendors .
3.No Maternity Hospital
A long-standing demand for a maternity hospital in Pulwama has been dismissed in the legislative assembly—still no concrete plan exists .
4.Drinking Water Crisis
Basic services like access to clean drinking water remain chronically unaddressed .
5.Stalled Development Projects
Although several five-year development schemes were approved by the District Development Council (DDC), no new initiatives have been launched .
Conclusion:
According to Umer Jaan, the current MLA—despite being elected—is yet to translate any campaign promises into developmental actions. “People, especially youth, were emotionally invested in our vote; they deserve real delivery, not empty words,” he emphasized.
