Ramban, July 11 (JKNS): Four people lost there lives in a tragic accident in Ramban after a TATA Sumo vehicle skidded off the road and plunged nearly 800 feet into a gorge on Friday Evening.
Soon after the accident, rescue teams besides locals responded swiftly, and all injured were evacuated and shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal for treatment, official said.
They said that six persons were in the vehicle, in which four were dead, while two others were injured.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident at Senabathi, Ukhral, that claimed four lives and left several others injured.
In a post on X, the District Administration Ramban, as per JKNS wrote, “District Administration Ramban expresses profound grief over the tragic loss of four precious lives in a road accident at Ukhral Senabathi. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”
The administration has announced an ex-gratia relief of ₹1 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased and ₹25,000 for each injured person. The post further assured that “all possible support is being extended to the affected families.”
The accident occurred when a Tata Sumo vehicle rolled down into a gorge in the Senabathi Dabdrora area of Ukhral, leaving four dead and four others injured. Police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident. (JKNS)
