17 Yatri Injured as Three Buses Collide on Srinagar-Jammu Highway Near Khudwani

Kulgam, July 13 (JKNS): At least 17 Amarnath Yatris sustained injuries after three buses collided on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH-44) near the Khudwani crossing in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the accident occurred when one of the buses, bearing registration number MT41ZD 7546, reportedly lost control and rammed into two other vehicles with registration numbers MP44ZD 7717 and JK2Y 0798.

Following the accident, the injured were immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for treatment, they said.

“All the injured yatris have minor injuries except two patients who suffered head injuries. Both have been sent for CT scan and reports are awaited,” an official from hospital told JKNS.

The condition of the rest of the injured is said to be stable, official said.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. (JKNS)
