Sopore, July 14 (JKNS): Sopore Police on Monday arreated two drug peddlers and seized Psychotropic Substances from their possession.
Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, Sopore Police apprehended two drug peddlers during a routine naka checking at Ahad Baba Crossing Noorbagh, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Fruit Mandi, Police Station Sopore.
The arrested individuals have been identified as, Wajahat Hassan Khan, S/o Ghulam Hassan Khan, R/o Mumkakh Batpora Sopore and Syed Irfan Hussain, S/o Mohammad Syed Shah, R/o Duroo Sopore, statement reads.
During their personal search, a psychotropic substance 173 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus was recovered from their possession, it reads.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 136/2025 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore. Investigation is ongoing to trace the source of the contraband and identify other individuals involved in the supply chain, it reads.
Sopore Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and illegal drug trafficking. “Our eyes are on every link in the chain. If you’re part of it, justice will find you swiftly and without leniency,” it reads.
