Budgam, July 22 (JKNS): Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) All India Youth President Dheeraj Sharma on Tuesday said that Jammu and Kashmir has become a victim of dual politics, where the interests of common people are being ignored for political gains.
“Politicians are working for their own interests, while the common people continue to suffer in every sector,” Sharma said while addressing a political gathering at Chekishera in Khansahib area of Budgam district.
He stressed that the region needs “honest political will” to resolve the long-pending issues faced by the people and to restore trust in democratic institutions.
Highlighting the need for focused development, Sharma said, “Jammu and Kashmir is a heaven on earth. It deserves focused attention and sustained support from the Central Government.”
He also stated that the revival of the tourism sector in J&K was among the party’s top priorities and that the NCP has already raised the matter in Parliament.
Reaffirming his party’s stand, Sharma said, “Our party has always stood by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, respects their sentiments, and will continue its efforts for the upliftment and upgradation of the region.”
The NCP leader said, by urging political stakeholders to rise above party lines and work for the genuine welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
