Budgam, July 30 (JKNS): Residents of Magam town in central Kashmir’s Budgam district have expressed strong resentment over the lack of street lighting around the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Magam, which they say is causing severe inconvenience and posing safety risks for patients, attendants, and pedestrians after dark.
Locals told news agency JKNS that the road leading to the hospital, which also connects several adjoining localities, plunges into complete darkness after evening.
“This is an important stretch providing access to the hospital and nearby areas, but the absence of street lights makes movement unsafe, especially for patients and attendants at night,” a local resident said.
Responding to the growing public outcry, the Executive Officer of the Municipal Committee Magam assured that the issue is being taken up on priority and steps will be initiated to install and repair street lights in the area. (JKNS)
