DPS Srinagar Clinches U-19 Inter-School Basketball Championship with Dominant Wins

Srinagar, July 30: Delhi Public School Srinagar emerged victorious at the Inter-School Boys Under-19 Basketball Tournament organized today by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Gindun Sports Complex, Rajbagh. Competing against three other prominent valley schools, DPS Srinagar secured the championship through commanding performances.

The team delivered a decisive 39-17 victory against Green Valley Educational Institute in their opening match. They continued their dominant form in the second game, overpowering Old Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar, with a 27-7 scoreline.

Mr. Vijay Dhar, Chairman of DPS Srinagar, celebrated the achievement: “This championship reflects our commitment to holistic development. Our players displayed exceptional teamwork and skill – a proud moment for our institution and the valley’s sporting community.”

Principal Ms. Shafaq Afshan added, “Winning both matches so convincingly demonstrates our basketball program’s strength. We commend the players’ discipline and the coaches’ dedication in achieving this result.”

During the prize distribution, Tournament Convenor Mr. Dilbagh Singh Bali commended all teams for their sportsmanship and competitive spirit before awarding the championship trophy to DPS Srinagar.

The entire DPS Srinagar community congratulates the U-19 basketball team on their outstanding tournament victory.
