Rajouri. In a heartwarming gesture of unity and goodwill, troops from the Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army celebrated Rakshabandhan with local girls from a village near the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district. The troops were deployed on an Anti-Terror Operation in the Gambhir area when the local sisters insisted on celebrating Rakshabandhan with them.
Embracing the spirit of Rakshabandhan, the young girls tied Rakhis on the wrists of the soldiers, symbolically strengthening the bond of brotherhood between the Army personnel and the local community. The soldiers, far from their own homes and families, warmly reciprocated the gesture, highlighting the strong relationship and mutual respect between the Indian Army and the people living in these border regions.
This celebration is a testament to the Indian Army’s commitment not only to safeguarding the nation’s borders but also to fostering peace, harmony, and goodwill with the local populace amidst challenging operational environments.
The Rashtriya Rifles personnel continue their vigilant efforts to ensure the safety and security of the region while cherishing the heartfelt bonds formed with the communities they protect.
