Baramulla, Aug 21: Sadbhavana Diwas, meaning the “Day of Harmony,” is observed every year on August 20 to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was the youngest Prime Minister of India.
The day symbolizes his vision of promoting peace, harmony, national integration, and goodwill among people, regardless of caste, creed, or religion. On this occasion, citizens across the country take a pledge to uphold tolerance, brotherhood, and unity in society.
To mark this day, My Yuva Bharat Baramulla observed Sadbhavana Diwas at Sumbal Bandipora with great enthusiasm. The program witnessed the active participation of more than 60 individuals, including both male and female participants. The resource person on the occasion highlighted the significance of Sadbhavana Diwas and emphasized its role in fostering peace, communal harmony, and national integration.
The event concluded with a collective pledge by participants to work towards building a peaceful and inclusive society, in line with the true spirit of Sadbhavana Diwas.
