HEARTS OF GRATITUDE: JAK LI REGIMENT CENTRE CHAMPIONS WELFARE OF VEER NARIS AND VEER MATAS

Srinagar, Aug 22 (JKNS): In a heartwarming demonstration of institutional commitment to the families of fallen heroes, the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) Regiment Centre under aegis of Chinar Corps reflected gratitude to 74 Veer Naris and Veer Matas under one roof of solidarity and support, as a prelude to upcoming Army Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) Day 2025.

Mrs Ashima Srivastav, Zonal President of AWWA, graced the occasion as the chief guest, her presence underlining the organizational hierarchy’s dedication to welfare initiatives. Accompanied by distinguished senior ladies from the Chinar Corps and 31 Sub Area, they were graciously hosted by Mrs Anita Beniwal, wife of Brigadier Ved Beniwal, JAK LI Centre Commandant on this Gratitude Day.

The ceremony transcended our commitment towards the comprehensive welfare of Veer Naris and Veer Matas. The second objective focused on knowledge dissemination, with detailed briefings about various Central Government, State Government, and Indian Army schemes designed to support Veer Naris, keeping them informed about their entitlements and ways to navigate bureaucratic processes with greater confidence and clarity.

Perhaps most significantly, the event prioritized grievance resolution, establishing dedicated stalls for on-the-spot redressal of concerns. A total of 24 grievances were addressed and solved on the spot.

Informatory addresses delivered by Colonel Veteran and Chief Records Officer provided comprehensive insights into welfare provisions, while specialized medical and dental facilities extended immediate healthcare support to the attendees.

Mrs Ashima Srivastav personally felicitated each Veer Nari and Veer Mata, acknowledging their sacrifices and resilience with the dignity they deserve. The informal lunch interaction, thereafter was another opportunity to foster personal connections and create space for candid conversations about ongoing challenges and future aspirations.

This initiative by JAK LI Regiment Centre under aegis of Chinar Corps exemplifies the Indian Army’s institutional gratitude and moral obligation toward its extended family. By creating platforms for dialogue, support, and recognition, such events ensure that the families of martyred soldiers never walk alone in their journey of rebuilding and perseverance. (JKNS)
