Srinagar, Aug 29 (JKNS): Traffic Police on Friday said the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway continues to remain closed for vehicular movement due to damages at several stretches between Jakheni and Chenani.
Traffic official as per news agency JKNS that restoration work is in progress, but the surface is not yet traffic-worthy. “We urge people not to undertake journeys on the highway until further notice and not to believe in rumors regarding its reopening,” he said.
Meanwhile, traffic is plying on the Mughal Road and the Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri (SSG) Road as per advisories. The Sinthan route has been opened for light motor vehicles (LMVs) only.
The official also appealed to commuters to maintain lane discipline and avoid overtaking to prevent congestion. (JKNS)
