Amit Shah Visits Flood-Hit Jammu, Omar Abdullah Stresses Need for Stronger Coordination

Srinagar, Sep 1 (JKNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said he visited Chak Mangu, a flood-affected village in Jammu, to assess the situation and review ongoing relief operations.

In a post on X, Shah, as per news agency JKNS, wrote that disaster response forces are carrying out rescue work in full swing, along with providing medical care to the affected people. He added that the Modi government is committed to taking all necessary measures for the rehabilitation of those impacted.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah welcomed the Home Minister’s visit, saying it reflects the Centre’s seriousness and will help strengthen coordination in relief and rehabilitation efforts across Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on X, Omar, as per JKNS, wrote that he attended the review meeting chaired by Amit Shah on the flood situation. “Thankful for his visit, which underscores the seriousness of the crisis and will help better coordination. Our priority remains timely relief, rehabilitation and rebuilding lives with resilience,” Omar stated. (JKNS)
