Srinagar, Sep 2 (JKNS): Tourists visiting the historic Hari Parbat fort in Srinagar’s Hawal area have raised serious concerns over the lack of essential facilities, despite the site being renovated recently with the installation of lights and other basic supplies.
Anil, a tourist from Kolkata, told news agency JKNS, “We expected a better experience here, but the absence of clean bathrooms and proper facilities has been disappointing. Such an important heritage site should be maintained properly.”
Echoing similar concerns, Rajesh Kumar from Uttar Pradesh said, “The place has great historical value, but the lack of cleanliness and drinking water facilities is very discouraging for tourists.”
Another tourist, Farheen from Delhi, remarked, “It is sad to see such a beautiful fort not being taken care of. Authorities should ensure basic amenities for visitors who come from across the country.”
Locals have also voiced frustration over the condition of the fort. Javed Ahmad, a resident of Srinagar, told JKNS, “Authorities had promised development after the renovation, but the ground reality is different. Tourists are left without basic amenities, which tarnishes our image as hosts.”
Tourists and locals alike have appealed to the authorities to immediately address the shortage of essential facilities and ensure proper upkeep of the historic Hari Parbat fort. (JKNS)
